Our Adjudicators

 Actors/Actresses (16 and older)
Auditions will be held Friday evening, Aug. 27th. Auditions are open to anyone age 16 and above and will be a very short reading from one of our selected plays.  The directors will then draft their casts.

The plays will be cast that evening and rehearsals held the next morning, Sat. August 28th with performances (staged readings with script in hand) beginning that afternoon.  Basically, the shows will be produced in a 24 hour time span...theatre on the fly!

 

Festival Events

Aug 27, 2010 (Friday)

6 - 7 PM - Open Registration 

7PM- Directors meet with MoACT Board

7:15 PM - (10 minutes) Mexico Area Community Theatre Welcome Presentation

7:30 – 9PM - Welcoming Announcements & Open Auditions: 

9:30PM - Announce the casts 

10PM -Meet and Greet party on the Stage (BYOB)
(light refreshments will be served sodas and snack, if you  want to bring your own beverage you may) 

Aug. 28, 2010 (Saturday)

9 a.m. – 12 noon -Breakfast on your own
Directors and Performers rehearse their shows at the theatre

12 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 Welcome Announcementand first Session of shows.

(following each performance the adjudicators will be given 3 minutes each to present their adjudication to the cast/crew)

Dinner Break (following shows) – On your own

7PM -Evening Session
 (WARNING! The shows in this session have adult content and language and are intended for mature audiences, they are not recommended for children)

This is a chance to meet, share time &  information with, learn from and perform with other actors from all over the state.

All of this takes place at beautiful Presser Hall, 900 North Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265. 

The early registration for the festival has ended however; you may register at the door for the following prices:
If you want to audition the registration price is $10
To see an individual show the admission cost is $5 per show or $15 to see all six shows
(there will be an audience choice award presented for best show, in order to vote though, you must see all six performances).
The cost for the Sunday Brunch & Awards event is $15

 This fun weekend event is hosted by the Mexico Area Community
Theatre and is a fundraiser for MoACT.
