The Directors (deadline July 15th)
The directors will be provided by our MoACT member theatres.  If you are with one of our member theatres and would like to direct, please contact your MoACT rep from that theatre and have them send us your name and contact info. and which member theatre you are from and which show or genre you prefer (comedy, drama or any). send to: a1cptjack@comcast.net  with MoACT Director in the subject line.  The shows will be assigned to the directors via director's preference. If more than one director wants the same show we will do a random drawing to determine the director of that show. A copy of the script will be sent to the director of each show once they are chosen.

 

 Actors/Actress (16 and older)

Event Cost: $25 in Advance ($15 for the Awards Brunch and $10 for auditions & shows) or $35 at the Door

Auditions will be held Friday evening, Aug. 27th. Auditions are open to anyone age 16 and above and will be a very short reading from one of our selected plays.  The directors will then draft their casts.

The plays will be cast that evening and rehearsals held the next morning, Sat. August 28th with performances (staged readings with script in hand) beginning that afternoon.  Basically, the shows will be produced in a 24 hour time span...theatre on the fly!

Aug 27, 2010 (Friday)

6 - 7 PM - Open Registration 

7:15 PM - (10 minutes) Mexico Welcome 

7:30 – 9PM - Welcoming Announcements & Open Auditions: 

9:30PM - Announce the casts 

10PM -Meet and Greet party at the theatre 

Aug. 28, 2010 (Saturday)

9 a.m. – 12 noon -Breakfast on your own and rehearsals 

12 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 Welcome – and first Session of shows. 
(Cold Herring, The Liberation of Aunt Jo Mama & Perspectives)
Each show will be followed by the judges critiques.

Dinner Break (following shows) – On your own

7PM -Evening Session
(Open Sunday-All Makes Repaired, Caldwell's Bomb & Best Friends)
Each show will be followed by the judges critiques.

10 PM (following shows)- Afterglow Party, site to be determined.

Aug. 29, 2010 (Sunday)

10:30AM - Night Of The Armadillo (a short play) by Jason Slavik

This is a chance to meet, share time &  information with, learn from and perform with other actors from all over the state.

All of this takes place at beautiful Presser Hall, 900 North Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265. 

 

Event registration cost is $25 per person in advance, which includes, admission to all six shows

and the awards brunch at the Mexico Country Club.

 Actors and actresses must register and pay

in advance by August 15, 2010 to receive the discounted rate. 

At the door cost is $35 for both the registration and banquet. 

If family and friends just want to see you perform they may

buy tickets at the door for $10.00 per person per show or $25.00 for all six

shows or $15 if they register in advance (this does not include the Sunday Brunch).

 This fun weekend event is hosted by the Mexico Area Community
Theatre and is a fundraiser for MoACT.
